He collaborates across the enterprise to develop and align business plans, the strategic action plan, and acquisition activity to the benefit of our clients.
Kovacs began his professional career with Gannett Fleming approximately 30 years ago. Here, his technical acumen and leadership skills flourished, and he progressed quickly through the ranks, earning a seat on the company’s board of directors in his early 40s – the youngest appointee to the board in the firm’s history. He most recently served as the executive director of the Water, Energy & Environment Corporate Business Group. A licensed professional engineer in 13 states, he was the first-ever employee to earn the Project Management Professional accreditation from the Project Management Institute. Kovacs grew his portfolio of experience to include planning, design, and construction services for a variety of private industry, transportation, and water resource projects for clients across the U.S. and internationally.
Today, Kovacs shares his experience and leadership to create an engaging and motivating culture for all employees. Committed to developing the next group of leaders within the firm, he founded and now serves as executive sponsor of Future Generations at Gannett Fleming, an employee resource group for early career professionals. Kovacs has given back to the profession through multiple leadership roles in industry associations. Currently, he serves as a member of ASCE’s Industry Leaders Council, which provides vision and guidance for the organization’s future.
